Blown-In Attic Insulation

Add insulation where the attic is thin or empty

A South Florida attic gets far hotter than the rooms under it. Insulation on the attic floor slows that heat. Many homes have less than they should, or insulation that has settled over the years.

Blown-in attic insulation is installed with a machine that spreads loose-fill across the attic, including around wiring and framing. If the old insulation is wet or contaminated, attic insulation removal comes first. We do not blow new material onto material that should have been taken out.

Can you blow insulation over what I already have?

Yes, when the existing insulation is dry and clean. Wet, matted or contaminated insulation should be removed first.

What material do you use?

Loose-fill fiberglass or cellulose. The quote names the material and the depth.

How long does it take?

Most homes take a few hours, depending on attic size and how much is being added.

Will this lower my power bill by a set amount?

More insulation often means the air conditioner runs less to hold the temperature. We do not promise a specific dollar savings.
