• Purify Air Duct Cleaning
Air conditioners in Aventura, Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale do not get a long off-season. They cool and dehumidify almost every day. That run time is why a duct-cleaning interval copied from a colder climate is only a starting point.
A reasonable baseline
For most homes, every 3 to 5 years is a sound time to clean supply and return ducts. The ducts are not a filter. They are a path. Dust, dander and debris that get past the filter settle in that path and can blow back into rooms when the system starts.
Book sooner if any of these are true
- You just finished a renovation, and drywall dust is still showing up.
- Pets live in the home, and returns load up quickly.
- You can see debris inside a supply vent.
- Someone in the household is more comfortable with the windows open than with the AC on.
- It has been longer than five years, or nobody knows the last time it was done.
- A musty smell shows up when the system starts. That one may also need HVAC cleaning, because the odor often starts on a wet coil rather than in the duct.
Condos and houses are not the same job
Aventura and Sunny Isles towers usually have a closet air handler and short runs. Houses in North Miami Beach, Pembroke Pines and Coral Springs often have longer flex duct in a hot attic. Both should be cleaned. The setup, the time on site and what we can inspect are different, so say which one you have when you book.
What cleaning does not do
Duct cleaning removes debris from the air path. It does not repair a crushed or disconnected run, it does not recharge refrigerant, and it is not a mold test. If one room never cools, start with an air duct inspection so you are not paying to clean a duct that is no longer connected.
