• Purify Air Duct Cleaning
The lint screen in the dryer door is only the first stop. Lint that gets past it travels through the hose and the vent line to an outside cap. When that line packs up, the dryer runs hot, clothes take forever, and the risk of a dryer fire goes up.
The U.S. Fire Administration reports that failure to clean is the leading factor in home clothes dryer fires. A yearly cleaning is a reasonable habit. Book sooner if you notice the signs below.
Clothes need a second cycle
If towels and jeans used to finish in one cycle and now need two, the dryer is probably not exhausting. Restricted airflow is the usual reason, and the vent is the first place to look.
The laundry room feels hotter than it should
Dryers are warm. A room that becomes uncomfortable, or clothes that are almost too hot to pull out, means heat is staying in the machine instead of leaving through the vent.
You smell something hot or stale
A burning smell or a damp, stale odor while the dryer runs is a reason to stop using it until the vent is checked. Do not keep running loads “to see if it clears.”
The outside flap barely moves
Go look at the hood while the dryer is on. The flap should open and you should feel air. A flap that stays shut, or a roof cap you cannot feel exhausting, is a clogged termination. In Sunny Isles, Hallandale and Aventura towers that termination is often on the roof, and the run is long enough to hide a lot of lint.
Lint around the hookup
Lint on the floor behind the dryer, or a crushed white plastic hose, means the connection itself is failing. Cleaning the wall duct will not fix a hose that is kinked flat. Both need attention.
What a real cleaning includes
Dryer vent cleaning covers the transition behind the dryer, the in-wall or ceiling run, and the exterior cap we can access. Brushing only the first foot of hose leaves the blockage in place.
If the building has a shared laundry room, that is commercial dryer vent cleaning, scheduled with management so machines can be shut down safely.
Purify is based in Aventura and can often pair a dryer vent cleaning with air duct cleaning on the same visit. Call 954-945-9428. We are open 24 hours.
